The Michelin tourist guide gave the Västerås Cathedral the highest marks. The cathedral is a splendid example of the brick churches that were erected during the 13th century in the landscape around Lake Mälaren. The pride of the cathedral are the six altar screens. And remember to view the unique baptismal chapel from Lübeck and Erik XIV’s sarchophagus made of Carrara marble.
