The old wood church with its magnificent tar-coated tower and pointed tower spire from the 17th century was completely destroyed in a fire in 1998. 

A few hundred metres south of the wood church lies the town’s second church which dates from 1892. Today it is home to the country’s largest sanctuary mural created in the 1950s by artist Nils-Aron Berge. A Middle Age procession crucifix and baroque-style pulpit chair was earlier moved from the old wood church.

Directions: The church is alongside road 252. Exit to the township of Surahammar.
