The church Säby kyrka was built between 1290 and 1310 on the shores of Freden (Peace cove), a cove on Lake Mälaren. It was originally built as a long-house with tunnel arch ceiling but during the 14th and 15th century the church porch and sacristy were added and a brick arch erected in 1450. The church has no tower but the two bells from the Middle Ages sound from a 18th centry belfry. The interior of the church is distinctly old and particularly influenced by the 1600s. The paintings, including a well preserved Maria effigy are remarkable given that they were created 1630-1650. The baptismal font is older than the church, probably from the mid 1100s. The pulpit, made 1680 by Fläckebo carpenter Erik Nilsson, is in excellent condition.
An examination of a grave in Mölntorpskoret revealed carved figures from the Middle Ages and parts of a medieval altar screen. The church was renovated between 1988 and 1989 and today greets its visitors with an light and splendid interior.
