The church opened in 1789 and was built in keeping with the style of a typical 18th century church and is spacious with clean lines. The church has objects preserved from an older church and the family coat of arms bring to mind Jönsarbo, Bernshammar, Karmansbobruken and the country houses along the River Hedströmmen. The school museum Heds Skolmuseum is right next door and the nature trail Romboleden passes by the church.
